I was asked the other day by a student just exactly what I recommended. Here is the step-by step instructions that I gave that student:
Go through a game by two masters (it's pretty easy to find some ... perhaps from the recent World Championship Match) and make your own annotations.
Then run the game through Fritz' analysis tool and see if things match up.
If your annotations don't match Fritz found out why by backtracking and making the move alternative you recommend and having Fritz analyze that position.
It will be eye opening on tactics but keep in mind that fritz gives you more than you ever wanted to know sometimes.
