Before I went away for the weekend I wanted to bring up an issue that's been bugging me ...
Thanks to Mr. Pilafov (who I met through Susan Polgar's official forum) I'm now interested in javascript chess viewers (as well as viewers developed in other languages). Most of these viewers are pretty simplistic (mostly developed by new programmers who write the code as part of a class project ... or a weekend warrior scenario). This issue has come up in a
former post.
I personally have never tried such a project, although it would be interesting to see what one programmed with php would look like (my language of choice ... thanks to SimplePie). Anyway, I applaud former efforts but I'm hoping the viewer being developed by Nikolai solves at least some of the more common problems (at the very least extended support for blog uses).
I'm glad to see an organized professional interest in this field of chess tech. Keep it up and I hope the project(s) are a resounding success!
