Some time ago (so far back I'm having trouble finding a link to the ancient article) I reported that Jennifer had changed her profile picture to herself in a red outfit playing chess on a board suspended by chains from the ceiling. I didn't understand the art of it at the time because nothing had been revealed publicly but we now have the full information on the installation piece ... check out this video:
This video from Vimeo was brought to my attention via Jenn's article.
For those who don't know I have a very soft spot for Susan Polgar and Jennifer Shahade as two women who have used their success and fame to promote chess. Susan's "SPICE" and Jennifer's "9queens" are really just the tip of the iceberg in my view.
As a friend of IM Jennifer Shahade on Facebook I get to see alot of odds and ends in Jennifer's life that others don't see. So when I read her recent CLO article I wasn't really surprised by the following photo:
You see, this photo is remarkably identical to a facebook profile that Jennifer had some time back (which I believe is a staged "Arty" image ... as this appears to be as well).
There are many points in this article that lead to only one conclusion. It's, in whole or in part, an April Fools joke. I'm not sure but it seems reasonable to assume. I'm also going to cruise over to Chessbase and see what April Fools trick they've pulled (given the previous two years jokes that backfired).
