Norway Chess is a 6-player double round-robin featuring World Champion Magnus Carlsen and taking place in the Clarion Hotel Energy in Stavanger, Norway from 7-17 September. Each of the 10 rounds consists of a classical game where a win is worth 3 paoints and a loss 0. If the players draw they play an Armageddon game, where the winner earns 1.5 points and the loser 1 point. No draw offers are allowed before move 30.
The classical time control is 2 hours for all moves, with a 10-second increment per move only after move 40. For Armageddon White (the same player who had White in the classical game) has 10 minutes to Black’s 7, with a 1-second increment from move 41. Black wins if the game ends in a draw. A tie for 1st place will be decided by two 3+2 blitz games followed, if necessary, by a 5 vs. 4-minute Armageddon game. Official website: norwaychess.no

Agad's title are way too good. I only click the video based on title
Please show where the players come from for all us new followers. You can use a flag or country name. Ed
At 14:26, can't Black simply play Bxd6? What am I missing?
Alireza is the chosen one!
It's not bad actually to capture the bishop. Maybe you will be behind in devellopment, but you have a bishop pare and a fianchetto maybe…
It's a game i would like to play as black.
3:33 nc2 check and wins the Queen xd theres no check lmao

I know the feeling that comes up with the last analysis 😝
If I as an amateur have scene many similar positions where that same rook was taken by that same knight, followed by the opponent being unable to castle, while suffering under relentless pressure, I don't see what is so "amazing" about it. Don't get me wrong it is a nice game and fun to watch. But I think here we are looking at pattern recognition or at the very least a particular theme, which has occurred many times both in amateur and professional chess.
Great
Magnus!! Alireza is coming to dethrone you!
HELP! at 14:35 bishop takes pawn on b4 is winning or did i miss something
Holy shit
This game is incredible
I like your title that you give
8:24 Nxf6 is mate
Rapport failed to simplify. Fatal.
Noone wins that many points in a tournament – 16.
Alireza in next tournament – 33.
Completely insane.
Love the way you pronounce Rapport.
Had to revisit an Alireza game to see some exciting chess since the E.T.C ended.
Honoring an "ancient " GM Murphy ending @15:20 . Classy. Kudos to you sir.
I love your F-R-I-E-N-D-S T shirt.
I can sacrifice every piece for a queen and here I hear that white is busted after winning the opponent's queen 😂😂
Aged like fine wine
Jesus… So Reza was 2754 in mid-Steptember!? Wow! That actually makes his road to 2800 even more impressive!
I think if there was just one game that highlights why Alireza is a contender for the title of world champion, this would be it.
His playing style I'd say is comparable to Kasparov's. It'll be very interesting to see how he fares against Carlsen in future matches. It could eventually turn into a rivalry almost like the old Karpov – Kasparov days.

"If you no longer go for a Fork that exists, you are no longer a Chess Player" -Ayrton Senna
Stupid whit text so cant see propper🥳
At 14:50 why cant you move the bishop to D6 and then when rook captures you will lose a piece and still have to move the king but the queen is defended by the rook.
Gives away bishop pair … Who says 2 nights are not better than 2 bishops?
Where was Hikaru?
I know this comment isn't about the game itself, but….Magnus Carlsen winning the tournament AND ends up losing Elo points for it. ROFL!
I don't like playing the way Alireza played because it's really hard. How can you stop it? Do exactly what Richard did and hope that Alireza makes a mistake. The attack here from Alireza was much harder to pull off after sacking that rook. We know we try to do that fancy stuff too… My ELO now, no reason to even call that fancy. In tournament play, it's almost what you would expect?
Beautiful play by Persian's gulf son alireza
Wow, that rook exchange sac was great vision.
Very powerful "Hello everyone!" today!
Can you find more early Magnus vs Nepo? Maybe there first games as FM, IM, or GM? Some games in their teenage years or 20s?
Thanks for the great videos
Agad explaining that everyone who plays online chess has silly mistakes that completely turned the tide soothed my soul.
I feel a lil sad for the 121 people who didn't like this video.
You, sir, are a GIFT!
5:20 "There are many things you can play here, but not a lot of things that are actually good"
Sounds like my games!
…mind…blown
Please don’t ever say “black is winning here regardless who plays it” . Antonio, my friend, I COULD BE PLAYING black here…
Carlsen vs. Li Chao, Qatar Masters (2015 ) i would really like to see you cover this game. It is one of Carlsen most notable games according to Wikipedia. Thanks <<<Chess Mike>>>
