World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen is back for the 16-player Aimchess US Rapid, the 9th and last event on the $1.6 million Meltwater Champions Chess Tour before the Final. It runs from August 28 to September 5 on chess24. The 3-day preliminary stage sees the players face each other once before the bottom 8 are eliminated while the top 8 advance to a knockout consisting of 2-day matches.
The time control is 15 minutes for all moves, with a 10-second increment per move from move 1. The knockout match-ups consist of 4-game matches on the first two days. If the match score is 1:1, two 5+3 games are then played followed, if needed, by Armageddon, where White has 5 minutes to Black’s 4 but a draw counts as a win for Black. Pause the vedio may have another variation too:
If white plays Qc5 then black capture the queen
And nf to e7 is mate !!!!!!!!!
I found this
This game is beautiful from my 1000 elo eyes. So complex I could watch it 3 times.
7:28 why is giving up the queen losing the game? black would have two rooks two knights and a bishop against a queen and a bishop. I thought that queen = 2 rooks approximately?
Forgive me if I’m horribly mistaken (almost certainly) but after pawn g7 to g5 wouldn’t h6 capturing en passant and delivering check win the black queen?
at 6:53 if black played Qc5 check would this not prevent the winning skewer at 7:44 with Rf7 check?
definitely not watching it again
Me: I thnk I've seen this video already.
agadmator: You will wanna watch it twice.
Me: Ok, let's go.
Alexander Alekhine would definitely find the move
Another “crazy crazy game” “Alireza couldn’t calculate all this”…”i hope you all managed to solve this position”. 😁
Alireza is seriously tricky and very hard to defeat….. I enjoy to watch his games a lot.
Thank You very much Antonio – for doing what you doing best – witch is improving my time with your grate content. It is very nice to see Medo in grate shape 😉
Kind regards to You and your family
If you do this you are the greatest player ever existed 😂
you should do a game of checkers
"Congratulations, you are the greatest player that ever lived." LOL! Yes, a complicated sequence, even for a 2700+ Grandmaster in a rapid game.
Is it just me or Kasparov´s "inmortal game" calculations were superb and definitely beyond this one?
I'm a novice so I don't know all the rules or maybe it's just tactically bad but: at 10:10 Why is Firouzja unable to perform an en passant?
Agadmator also need brain to increase his vocabulary.
.
Agadmator: pause the video, i will give you a couple of seconds
Alireza: gives up after some minutes passed
Sacrifices a knight instead of winning a Knight, and ends up winning the game.
shit I've been sober for a week and I just all of a sudden lost my ability to calculate moves super fast like I used to when I was high af
it seems that i am not the best chess player that ever existedxDDD. Incredible game
12:06 Amazing that after all of the strange trades, exchanges and refused exchanges… they get to this point with exactly the same material.
Tal plays Nxh6 in about 10 seconds.
The never give up temperament more often than not gives a win in chess, so much like in life as well.
You forgot to put the last 2 videos in the end of that one
@6:13 Why even bother with the queen to F6 check? You can skip this and just do your rook lift right away
Anyone else think that the long format is the only version of chess that really counts? A good game is still a good game, but you're not 'World Champion' unless you're the Classical world champion (I state with humility).
I am so proud of myself for doing the pause the video moment without pausing. I also calcuated 3 variations (2 he mentioned, and a hypthetical that he didn't mention) however l didn't see the final one he showed. But l was confident since all 3 permutations l walked through were winning. Either by mate or winning the queen
In the Pause the Video segment, is there any point in that string of moves where Queen can check on c5? It's not a threatened square, and then it can gobble up the e pawn if not reacted to
Very beatiful attacking game by Alireza, he rook his risks in Tal way!
Why did Wesley So trade queen for rook?
I hang pieces as often as Alireza, yet I am not a grandmaster yet.
🇨🇵
Worst Clickbait Title Ever
5:25 Do you think we will such a move in only a couple of seconds when Alireza couldn't
@agadmator, in the sequence outlined post the knight sac, @7:31 wouldn't taking the f7 pawn with the black queen and subsequently trading the queen for the rook be better for black? 2 rooks and 2 knights and a bishop vs a queen and bishop?
Its much easier to find a move knowing there is a move
And now that we have reached the end of the Morphy Saga. . What next? . . What a wonderful journey Antonio brought us on. . Thank you so much. . . But, no more 'Good stuff' to look forward to? . . So sad! . . I am sure we would all like to have the real Morphy in our own time, but that being impossible, I'm sure Antonio will make the games of mere mortals sound almost as interesting and exciting. . . (Or, as he is sometimes referred to, "Caïssa")
Are they playing this tournament online?
Raise your hand 🖐 who never pause the video and come here just to enjoy the show
Maybe that difficult line could have been calculated by Tal or Fischer in a classical game
When you watch 50 moves in the game and then realise it's not the main line of the game and he's just showing the possibilities.
So nice !
Didn't expect it to be that long HAHA
the lack of "continuing the Morphy saga" makes me sad, nostalgic
Alireza attacked so SO resigned.. 💥💥💥man he was not moving his pieces😅 just killing opponent hopes of winning 👏👏by placing perfect squares..
Alireza’s a beast.
After pawn F7 what’s wrong with Queen takes pawn, rook takes queen, king takes rook
Black is way up in material isn’t he? Two rooks and three minor pieces
Ali 18 greatest prodigy since Magnus 18
Hey Agad, so on a few videos you mentioned making your sagas shorter. But honestly, I love the stories behind the sagas and the players. I remember you saying you enjoy them which is why you do what you do. Maybe do a YouTube poll on the size of the Sagas? Who knows if your fans also like the long sagas 👍
7:31 after Queen sacriface on f7 for the rook, isn't black winning there ? 2 rooks 2 knights and a bishop against a queen and bishop…
