World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen is back for the 16-player Aimchess US Rapid, the 9th and last event on the $1.6 million Meltwater Champions Chess Tour before the Final. It runs from August 28 to September 5 on chess24. The 3-day preliminary stage sees the players face each other once before the bottom 8 are eliminated while the top 8 advance to a knockout consisting of 2-day matches.

The time control is 15 minutes for all moves, with a 10-second increment per move from move 1. The knockout match-ups consist of 4-game matches on the first two days. If the match score is 1:1, two 5+3 games are then played followed, if needed, by Armageddon, where White has 5 minutes to Black’s 4 but a draw counts as a win for Black. 1. @7:51 Why not just sac the exchange by giving up your rook for the bishop? You're up two pawns anyways so should be drawable

  2. Igraju partiju šaha fratar i imam na klupi u parku.
Partija se završi remijem sa dva kralja na ploči
    Imam igra dalje Kc2.
Fratar : "Neprecizno. Vidi sad ovo.", I odigra Kd4.
Imam :" Ti ba nemaš pojma.", i odigra Kd3 iz inata.

  3. after R c8 Magnus had Q takes on e3 with check and Artemiev would resign… so no need to worry about ghosts in form of "R h8 is coming"

  4. yes we are here for the chess
and yes we dont really mind
but we wanna see agadmator in the best right shining bright 😀

  5. Such an "underrated" player. He is the victim of "nostagia syndrome" imo. If Magnus plays in 1900, he would've been called as the best player of all time

  6. 7:50 There was another option, I think. That would be to capture the B and trade down. c6R x B and if pawn takes then capture the pawn with the other Rook and exchange the other Rooks or if Rook takes then again trade off that pair of rooks. This swaps one Rook, one Bishop and one pawn for 2 rooks, which is pretty even, and keeps your Queen defending as well as opening up a lot of open files and going up 3 pawns and reducing Magnus's attack to just Q and N.

  7. I honestly never would of found that disconnecting move under the stress of any game let alone a chess final. GG Mags

  8. How in the world when I go back on my games is it that on move 5 its a completely new game lmao. Me and my opponents coming up with new theory daily.

  9. As a 600 rated player, this is my FIRST time taking the correct guess on one of Agadmator's famous "pause the video". I literally jumped off my chair and danced

  10. May be a naive question as I am not expert in chess but at 7:50 why can’t Artemiev could not capture bishop by rook. He would have got bishop plus one pawn in exchange of rook. That is better than loosing queen

  11. Magnus learned this from Alpha Zero. The best player in the world is studying from the only thing he can learn something from: the best engine in the world.
