This year the National Championships of India are going to take place online from the 26th to the 28th of July 2021. We have 13 GMs and 28 IMs taking part in the 247 player field. The one who wins it will be crowned as the National Champion.
It’s quite a tough event! Yet, we have two of the well-known stand-up comedians cum chess lovers Samay Raina and Biswa Kalyan Rath playing in this tournament. The two of them have been working on chess for over a year now. And this would be a great practice for them to understand what the strong chess players are like. IM Sagar Shah commentates on their games here.
