The Belgrade FIDE Grand Prix is the 16-player second of three legs of the 24-player 2022 FIDE Grand Prix that qualifies two players to the Candidates Tournament. Each player competes in two of the three tournaments, with the 16 players divided into four groups who play a double round-robin. The group winners advance to a knockout. Tiebreaks at any stage are played on the following day. Players can earn a maximum of 13 points for winning a leg.

Players receive 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes to the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one. In case of a tie a 15+10 two-game match is played. If still tied, a 3+2 two-game match follows and then, if needed, an Armageddon game, where White has 5 minutes to Black’s 4, but a draw counts as a win for Black. If more than two players are tied a round-robin tiebreak is played. Official website: worldchess.com

  1. The game was outstanding, but most definitely highlighted to its greatest advantage by the commentary, plaudits for Agad!

  2. A beautiful tactic @27:02; if white plays nxe5 and if black plays a waiting move like Rh7 then we have the beautiful: Nxc6; Kc4 threatening the rook Rxb3; (Rook takes is forced otherwise rook hanging on b8 due to c6 knight); Na5 fork and take the rook back. This ensuing position is winning for whom I don't know this line itself is not forced but a very beautiful tactic nevertheless. Would have loved if Agad had shown possible lines starting with nxe5 as well.(not for me but for my friends at the bar and the library 🙂 )

  3. It'll be cool to get in on p2es in chess games, well loving Dragon evolution gamefi, seems playable, would see more of it in due time

  4. The Way Agadmator says hilarious things with a completely serious face! 😂 I bet my friends would actually be impressed I know the color of Tartakower’s eyes

  5. People with green eyes are the most wonderful human beings, intelligent good hearted and attractive, theres NO connection to the fact that i have green eyes…😜

  6. I truly enjoy his commentary, it seems to bring the games to a more exciting level. Thanks for all your hard work in bringing them to us.

  7. Those guys got a lot of time in their hands. This is a long game. 3 mins should be long enough!

  8. A question to everyone & Mr Antonio, is there any Berlin opening game between super GMs that not result in draw?

  9. I'm very impressed by how much Rapport improved in the last year. He is showing some serious preparations too – if he steps up his openings he can he a stable top5 player for a long time

  10. Instead of playing the position MVL played the opponent, and it led to him seeing ghosts. It caused him to not play the best line yesterday and to not accept the Rook sacrifice today.

  11. because of video length i watched it at x2 speed, when i switched to normal speed it feels so slow.

  12. I will never become a good chess player – buha buhäää, snif snif – how can they spot these best moves so fast? Really impressive stuff! Artists at work!

  13. Agad: Tartakower had green eyes
    Me: Googles Tartakower
Also Me: Realizes all his photos were in B&W so I guess we'll never know

  14. My friends at the library wanted to know if Tartakower only had green eyes after his loss to Capablanca? As a result, I was at a loss to futher embellish their vast knowledge..

  15. Told the green eyes story to my friends at the library. They were not impressed at all. I guess it must be more of a bar thing.

  16. Agad’s language skill consistently amazes me. In this case, it seems to me that his native language must also have the idiomatic meaning of “pedestrian”; however, he walks all around it, instead of simply using “pedestrian”. Still, it seems to me that he did this on purpose. It reminds me that the interplay of languages is not always straightforward and a polyglot poet like Agad makes myriad decisions in extemporaneous syntactic constructions that boggle the mind in analysis. We are quite the animal.

All this thinking, from a YouTube video… and a good chess game too.

  17. I'm calling out agad for not supporting ukraine. today even ivanchuk said russians should be banned from chess. I've was one of the first 50k subs on this channel. do something, either don't show any more russian players, remove videos with russians, figure it out do something.

  18. My friends at the bar & the library were more impressed with the name "Tartakower" than him having green eyes…💁🏻‍♂️
